Our IT development services are broken into three categories: Content Management Systems (CMS), Configuration Management (CM), and Prototyping / Utilities. Content Management SystemsContent Management Systems are becoming the backbone for our customer websites. We have experiencing architecting, implementing, customizing, and maintainingg the following CMS tools: - Microsoft SharePoint - Installing, configuring, and administration of Sharepoint web sites. Includes managing site content types, lists, and document libraries. We have customized SharePoint installations with customized New/Edit pages, SharePoint designer workflows, and custom WSPs for additional features.
- Joomla - Installation and administration of Joomla web sites. Includes managing users, categories, articles, and components. Experienced with developing and deploying custom components written in PHP.
- Mambo - Installation and administration of Mambo web sites. Very similar experiences as with Joomla, as we were administrating and customizing Mambo before its predecessor, Joomla, arrived.
- Paperthin Commonspot - Installation and configuration of Commonspot. Includes managing users, sections, and articles. Developed customized ColdFusion modules for read/write integration with external databases.
Configuration ManagementConfiguration Management is an important element to a sound IT shop. We have experience installing and managing the following CM toolsets. We also are experienced in developing procedures and training staff on configuration management toolsets. - Team Foundation Server - Installing and configuring Microsoft's flagship CM product. When most of the project's development is in Visual Studio, TFS will be our first choice to use for version control
- Serena Version Manager - Installing and configuring, but mostly just using the product these days. We have been using this product since it was Intersolv, then Merant, and now finally Serena. The companies have merged, gone public, back private, but the version control software still lives. Often, this product is still just called PVCS.
- Subversion / BugTracker / Ant - Installing and configuring the open-source trifecta of CM tools. If we're mostly programming in the Eclipse environment for a project, or if the budget is terribly tight, then these are the tools of choice. Nothing terribly fancy about their interfaces, but they reliably get the CM job done every day.
- Visual SourceSafe - Installing and configuring and API scripting. A fairly straightforward product to install and manage via network shares. If the edict is MS-only and there's no budget for TFS, then this is our go-to product. Haven't had to do an install lately, but there are still a couple of VSS installs running along just fine that we've done. Most of our VSS installs by now have been migrated to a larger CM tool.
- StarTeam - Borland's CM package. It has a quirky interface, but it has an extensible interface, and I have seen it support hundreds of thousands of files. Configuration, customization, and usage only, have not had the pleasure of installing.
Prototyping / UtilitiesFrom our clients, we understand how "quick-coding" can meet an immediate need.. Whether it be a system prototype to secure more funding for development or a one-off utility to save someone keystrokes every week, we can provide short-term solutions for longer-term gains. Generally, they involve coding some plumbing together for a variety of different technologies. The technologies involved have been varied as so we generally try and see what we can do with what's available. Tools and technologies we have hooked together in prototypes and utilities include the list below. Also, if you have something that's not on the list, we're not worried. If there is an API or a forum or blog or a tweet or a helpdesk for it, we can probably do it, and if there's not, it doesn't stop us! The list is in no particular order or association. C#, .NET, Java, PHP, Javascript, VBScript, perl, Sharepoint API, SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, iPhone, Objective C, iTunes, Windows Mobile, Joomla components, Paypal API, GPS modems, wireless positioning, Visual SourceSafe API, StarTeam API, ANT, Eclipse plug-ins, Barcode readers, SNA server, HLLAPI screen scraping, Sharepoint WSPs, Meraki Mesh Networks, RBSLynk Credit Card processing, OPW's K800 Fuel Control system, VMWare API, Ghost, Active Directory, Barcode APIs, and PDF forms.
